Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware The driver may be corrup

Hello,

I am getting this code when I attempt to use my internal CD/DVD drive and when I attempted to use an external CD/DVD drive. It also comes ups when I look at the Secondary IED Channel properties. Last year I had this same problem and brought it in to a computer guy. The guy said it was a software problem and did 5 clicks of the mouse and solved it. I moved out of state since then (so I can't go back to the same guy) and everyone around here said it's a hardware problem and won't even diagnosis it for less than $100.00. So, any help with this would be nice. Thanks

It is a software problem. Have you recently installed anything like Dameon Tools? If so, try and do a system restore to an earlier date when it was working. Otherwise, it will require a registry edit to correct the issue.
