Hey, I have had my computer for many years now, and I realized that I have so
much junk on it and my Windows settings and boot settings are so messed up, I
just want to start over. Problem is, I don't know how to delete everything
on my C-Drive. I want it to be like I just got a brand new hard drive, with
nothing, not even Windows, on it yet. Basically like a new computer. Please
help! Thank you.

Boot your PC from your Windows XP CD. You'll have an option to format the
drive.

I am not really that great with computer and computer language etc, so I will
get to the point. What is BIOS? How do I enable it? When I start my
computer, it starts normally, even with the xp cd in my d drive. When I
press F12 at startup, I choose boot from IDE CD-Rom Device, all it says is
press F1 to retry boot, or press F2 to cancel.

Well then, what CD are we talking about here? Whatever it is, I am not sure
if I have it. Can I get a replacement somehow?

The BIOS (basic input/output system) is already enabled. if it wasn't you
wouldn't be able to boot your pc. It looks as if your cd-rom is not the
first boot option. In that case you need to change it. Once again visit my
website http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Click the Win XP Faq button and
take a look at question 13 How do i enable cd-rom support in the BIOS.
However, if your pc is really old you may not be able to boot directly from
cd. In which case you can download a file from Microosft which will create 6
floppy disks. These will start the window xp installation and provide cd
support so that, as soon as the files have been copied to your hard drive,
the xp cd can take over and install windows xp.
