Hello,

I recently purchased two Behringer mics (XM8500) and two Apex Electronics 1/4" to XLR cables to connect into my Soke Karaoke system.

I connected the XLR ends to the mics and the 1/4" jacks into the front of the Karaoke machine (there are 2 1/4" mic inputs there).

However, I don't hear anything. Am I missing something?

The old wireless mics that plugged into the front 1/4" jacks still work. Any ideas?

Solution
pin 2 of the XLR (black wire) should connect to the tip of the 1/4" plug, and nowhere else
pin 1 (white wire) and 3 (screen shield) of the XLR should connect to the sleeve of the
1/4" plug
if that is correct I would think it should be working.
but if the wiring is not as above, it probably won't work.

You are a genius! Thank you so much :)

I looked at my 1/4" plugs and realized that there were 3 sections and not 2 (don't know the technical name for it).

Went to the store, swapped the ones I had for the one with just the tip and one sleeve section and it works like a charm. Brilliant sound from the mic :)

Thanks again! You're a lifesaver!
