Hi,

I have seen this on OEM systems. And for first boots, etc. Are you logging
into the same profile? Which Help and Support does it open?

In the meantime:

Here are some checkpoints to consider:

Go to Start/Run/control folders/View/Uncheck Restore previous folder windows
at logon.

Create Separate Processes for the Desktop and Explorer

Separate Process for the Desktop and Explorer (Line 62)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Go to Start/Run/Msconfig/Startup
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to these keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You are looking for a listing that uses a long file name/path with spaces in
it, that is not enclosed in quotes. If found that is the culprit. Go to
Start/Run/msconfig/Startup.

Hi Kelly,

Is there any special reason to create Separate Processes for the Desktop and
Explorer ?

Could you explain this.

Hi Jony,

Your work is good here, thanks for sharing! As per your question, there
could be several reasons. Leaning more toward my troubleshooting nature, by
default the multi-threaded process contains many instances. If any one of
them fails, they all fail.
