Hi guys I have an Sony KE-42TS2U HDTV ( haha I know its old) and recently bought a Philips BDP3406 Blu-Ray player. The HDTV only has a DVI port while the player has an HDMI port. I have tried to use an HDMI to DVI converter cable (this one: AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (9.8 Feet/3.0 Meters)). However no signal was detected by the TV. When I used the cable and connected it to my Dell sp2309w monitor I got perfect picture and no problems. Knowing that the TV was incompatible with the cable I hooked my desktop up to it using the DVI to DVI cable that came with the Dell monitor. This cable worked fine. As far as I can tell the cable is a: HOTRON E246588 AWM 20276 VW-1 30V. If there is a cable exactly like this one but with an HDMI end I think it will work fine. I have no idea how to find such a cable. Can anyone help me find such a cable? Until then I can't use the Blu-Ray Player :(
