So i just built myself a dual core system and i love it to death. There is
however 1 annoying thing i'm hoping we can find a fix for.
There are some programs of course that don't appreciate the wonder that is
dual core. Thats to be expected, and the fix for it is of course to pull up
the task manager and set the affinity to one CPU. Sounds simple, and it is,
however it can get very annoying having to set this manually every time. Take
for instance Neverwinter Nights, you have to load the game, minimize it,
bring up task manager and set the CPU.
What i'm wondering is if theres some kind of command line i can add to the
programs shortcuts or registry entry i can add somewhere that tells windows
to always start certain programs using only 1 CPU. Hell even a bat file would
work, however i'd like to stay away from those simply due to some programs
being launched from another process. For instance real player loading due to
a web link clicked.
Any ideas, links, white papers, whatever would be wonderful
