Even if the MPact2 graphics chip is integrated onto the motherboard, you will be
well ahead of the game to get even an older PCI graphics card with 4MB or 8MB.
Less frustrating, too. Matrox, ATI, and nVidia are the survivors in graphics.

Wow! I wonder how many complaints it took to get display drivers out online
for the mpact 2 card. I remember when it first came out (I believe 1998). I
was working in tech support, and gateway would not offer drivers for the
mpact 2 online because they were officially "licensed" software (the mpact2
was a combination display adaptor and dvd decoder). Therefore these drivers
would have to be sent out on cd to individuals that needed them. Gateway, at
the time was on a big push to get people to download drivers rather then
send them out. Some shirt was monitoring one call which I had to send out
MPACT2 drivers, stopped me in the process of the call and said I could not
send them out. When I explained to this idiot that the drivers for this card
were not available online, they advised me to have the person "try" to look
for them. I again reminded the monitor that they were not there. This was
established fact. Ask any tech on the floor. Again I was told to have the
person look for the drivers online. So I politely got on with the customer
advised the customer that he needs to look for the driver online. After he
did so and could not find it, call back and we would send him out the disk.
I bet he thought I was crazy.
