Ok, thought I'd yield a comment about this new sony lcd of mine that I
just got from dell. SDM-X93.

Text is great, though single pixel width text
will hurt my eyes if stared at too long

images are pretty much great, though I'm
suspecting that if I really scrutinize it, that
the colors might be lacking when compared
to an aperture-gril crt

3D games are outta the questions (a HUGE
hit for me. :( Gonna have to find another vid
card (PCI---YUCK) to drive another monitor.
This current lcd smears unreal tournament
around enough to give me a headache.

Auto detects ambient light. Or so the theory.
I'm not sure if I've seen this in action yet.

display controls are cool looking, but a disaster
to use. I'd rather they be cool looking, but that
may just be me.

Has built in speakers, but haven't tried them yet.

driving the display digitally, which really seems like
the way to go. It sends a bunch of bits, and you
see them pixels without overlapping, so long as
your display is at 1280x1024, which it automatically
sets up to use every pixel, end to end. Nifty.

Thought I'd chime in, since LCD's are a common discussion.

While using is ok, actually /writing/ free software is a disingenuous
activity. You can afford to write software for free only because of
someone else somewhere actually paying for it. Just say no.
