I can't speak highly enough of Tom's Hardware, however, its' focus is on "Hardware".

Can you recommend a site of the same caliber that offers information/columns on software? And more specifically, game development (i.e. 3D and 2D game engines, lighting, etc.)

doncha think the web is too big for a good site like thg-for-software? i dunno i think maybe its better to find sites catered to your software needs... and there are tons of those around. btw have you played ravenshield? it rox!
