Toshiba laptop audio issue

I have a Toshiba Tecra S1 laptop, reinstalled WinXP several times but there is no sound.
Winamp and similar players keep crashing or not playing at all.
When checking the services and hardware details it says there is no multimedia audio device or audio device at all - though the laptop has built-in audio devices.

Where can the audio capabilities set up properly?
If it is some driver problem, where can I download the driver from?

Did you install Toshiba's own CD of drivers or just rely on Windows? Try Toshiba's site for an updated driver set.
