I would like to take the mobo out of my Workstation 420 and put it in
a new (read: more quiet) case. I'm looking at the Sonata by Antec and
would like to know if the 420's motherboard will fit/mount into the
Sonata.

I know about the Dell proprietary PS thing. I found a place online to
pick up an adapter to get around this. This should allow me to use an
ATX PS with the Dell mobo.

I just need to know if the mobo will work in an ATX case.

Thoughts?

thanks,

It won't, at least not without extensive modification to the new case.
Find out what's making the noise and replace it (if the Precision has the
old Quantum/Maxtor Atlas 10K SCSI drives, start there - those things are
VERY noisy).
