Windows installer nightmares

Hello everybody,

I didnt quite know where to post this thread - their wasn't an exact place for this to be put in.

So, this morning I got an alpha key to a game, some of you might know it (Scrolls by Mojang) and I'm almost 90% sure that the problem is on my end - the following error message appears when i try to install it.  


After hours of searching the helpless Microsoft forum, I finally bowed down to post it here. My machine is running x64 Win7, Intel CPU (If that helps).

I've also tried to install Windows Installer again, but this error appears.
