What are some quality headsets?

I am wanting to buy a headset, but I don't know which one I want to get. I've done a lot of looking around, and I can't decide between reading countless reviews and being disappointed about all the ones I am looking at. At this time, I am not really concerned with have surround sound in the headphones, only cause all the reviews I was reading seems like they aren't long lasting. I'm not trying to get like 10 years out of a set but I would like them to last to make them worth buying.

My wants and needs
■ I plan on listening to music but the headset doesn't need to built for music
■ If I can get 5.1 without sacrificing quality then sure
■ $100 or less, if a little over not a big deal
■ Would like good sound canceling mic
■ Preferably not USB connection
■ Quite while wearing
■ Good quality
■ Auto-Mute
