comp not reading cd

Ok I put in a cd into the drive, go to my computer, D drive ,and it says its blank. BLANK! How can my windows 98 cd be blank, how can my music cd have ZERO BYTES. I tried the cds on other computers and they are reading them. WTf is with my cd rom (its actually a burner)?

  1. Is this a new CDRW? Did this problem just appear out of the blue? Did you do or add something?

  2. If it's not new, how old is it? Have you tried cleaning it? I had a problem like this once, turned out the laser lens was dirty. Once I cleaned it, I had no problems.
