comp not reading cd

Ok I put in a cd into the drive, go to my computer, D drive ,and it says its blank. BLANK! How can my windows 98 cd be blank, how can my music cd have ZERO BYTES. I tried the cds on other computers and they are reading them. WTf is with my cd rom (its actually a burner)?

Is this a new CDRW? Did this problem just appear out of the blue? Did you do or add something?

If it's not new, how old is it? Have you tried cleaning it? I had a problem like this once, turned out the laser lens was dirty. Once I cleaned it, I had no problems.
