I'm new. Hope this is the right forum to post questions about the
Treo 600. I'm also new to owning a Palm OS device such as the Treo
600. Here' is what I need help with:
1. Delete key - Does one exist, if so, where is it? To edit text, it
appears you have to use the 5-way Nav button to arrow to the right of
the text you want to delete, then use the Backspace key to delete.
I'm hoping there's an easier way to delete text, but have not found
it. What's the answer?
2. Purge not working in Contacts - I am still experimenting with the
Hotsync function, so am loading a bunch of junk into my Treo. The
menu command Purge does not work, however, so I must manually open and
delete each Contact. What a pain. Any idea why Purge is not working?
3. Shutting off GPRS - Whenever I send email, the GPRS icon stays lit
for a long time. Anyway to manually close the connection?

In regards to your questions,
1) I don't believe that there is a delete key (only a backspace key).
At least if there is a delete key, I haven't found it or felt the need
to use it.
2) I don't see a "Purge" for my Contacts (on my Treo 600). I only see
a "Purge" in my Mail.
3) The only way of closing the connection is to go to "Prefs",
"Network", and click on "Disconnect". However, the only thing that
this will do is protect you from accidentally using GPRS since you
aren't charged for the amount of time you remain connected. You are
charged for the amount of downloading/uploading that you use.

Take a look at TreoSelecText - it lets you select characters, words or whole
passages of text with the 5-way pad in any program. You can then cut, copy,
paste or just delete them with the backspace key. It's payware but very
inexpensive and an essential buy.

How does one use shortcuts on the Treo?
