[Dimension 8250] noise returned

A while ago I posted to this group with a question about my very noisy
Dimension 8250. I thought I'd traced the noise to the Power Supply, so I
put a new one in.

Things seemed fine for a while, but after a month or so the leave blower
sound is back (the leave blower was mentioned in another thread: a very apt
desciption)

This time I did make an important change right before the noise came back:
I replaced one of my two monitors.

But surely, that does not explain a difference in noise level?
Or can it?

(I felt the cables: they are all secure and firm, no tremors. I used to
have a dual monitor set up with a Dell 15" Flatpanel and a tiny 9 inch CRT
monitor. Now I have a quality eizo 17" flexscan and the 15" Dell as the
second monitor).

I am going crazy here! Feel like I might get blasted out of my chair.
