Barton 2500 vs Barton 2800 big difference?

Greetings! Very soon (like in a week) Ill be putting together a brand new system for mostly gaming... I have another thread in the main forum link , which lists everything I'm planning on getting. I've been wondering though whether I should save an extra 80$'s or so and get an XP 2500 barton , instead of the 2800.The reason I don't want to get the P4's are due to the fact that I'll have to pay more for a seperate sound card which will run me over my budget. So I'm planning to stick with AMD for now.

i would say go for the 2500...it will easly overclock to 2800 with stock cooling and voltage...it was almost made to run that speed...

3 386DX-25's...12 volts...glue some ln2 and a wicked amount of overclocking and you get a willamantee minus 36 pins, 33.75 million transistors and a couple hundred mhz...

yup...i gotta scrounge up 1 more 386 and a socket 423 mobo...and then we will let the overclocking begin!

Save the 80$ for something else, and go for the 2500+. I bet you won´t notice the difference in speed at all, only in benchmark scores, and if you want to you can always overclock.

The only AMD chip thats noticeably faster than the 2500 is the 3200. Unless you use benchmarks of course. And the new 2500's will overclock to a 3200 easily anyway.....
