Hi all please post your Processor Type, Speed, Temps.
Please do Idle and Under Load, While your at it tell what your cooling it with.

I'll Start

2.4c running @ 2.88, 37c Idle, 48-50c under load
Stock cooler

Athlon 1.33 46C rest, 50 Loaded.
stock cool.

Poor mans surround sound all the way!
August 4, 2003 7:08:10 PM

Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.917, ??c IDLE, 58-63c under load. (STOCK COOLING, ambiant temp : 27c MAX).

NOTE : I don't know at idle, because I run SETI@Home 24/7. I never checked my idle temperature. And I don't care that, because my CPU is never waiting for job to do! :)

PIII 700 at 886mhz (2.05 vcore) 29c idle and 34c full load...

Using a huge passive heatsink from a pII 233 and have mounted a 92mm 50cfm fan on it...

3 386DX-25's...12 volts...glue some ln2 and a wicked amount of overclocking and you get a willamantee minus 36 pins, 33.75 million transistors and a couple hundred mhz...

I love the custom cooler PIII man :)

2.4b @ 2.53, stock fan
45C idle; 52-55 load.

t-bred B 1700+

At 2000MHz at 1.7V
36C idle and 43C Full Load

At 2200MHz at 1.95 V
48C Idle and 63C Full Load

All on stock HSF with 2 case fans - one front Intake and one rear Exhaust. I keep the case open most of the time though that does not seem to have any effect on the temp.

1700+ Palomino, good stepping (like it matters , P.O.S.)

@ 1.7ghz (limited by mobo)

48C idle
55-60C full load

stock cooler with side off case and table fan blowing on because of the summer heat and because the Volcano7 is just toooo damn noisy. unuseable because of the sheer volume of that horrible HSF

2000+ palomino at 140 fsb. 1.8 vcore. I think the temps are a little off but just after getting into windows right after booting its 29c, then about after 10 mins of watchin tv or websurfing its about 32c, after a couple hours of sof2 or ut2k3 its around 35c. These are *fairly* accurate because Im feeling the heastink and it feels cool to the touch, after sof2 a little warm. Case ambient never goes above 26.

August 4, 2003 11:59:04 PM

yes im running at a 147 fsb, 1.70 vcore. stock 1.75 but sinse teh core isnt near its limit i lowered it to reduce heat by a few degrees.

thers no way to separate the fsb from teh pci bus... so thats why i cant go ablove 147. pissed me off. i was hoping to get up to 166 and lower the multiplyer but ill have to get a new mobo to do that.. ill end up haveinga 2500 barton by then -___-!

Barton 2500+ overclocked to 2.2Ghz (12.5x176) runs at ~39C idle and ~43C after gaming for awhile. The Volcano 9 is loud, but I just crank up the volume until I can't hear it.
August 5, 2003 2:46:27 AM

LOL Playing with hugh passive heatsinks again?
August 5, 2003 2:47:45 AM

You have any room left on your Mobo with that BIG HS.
August 5, 2003 2:56:59 AM

Athlon Thunderbird 1.2Ghz, using stock hsf. 60-63º idle, 70º full load.

It's not about good or bad, it's about which gets you rich and laid faster.
August 5, 2003 2:57:34 AM

its slot 1 smart ass....i could put a 3 foot tall heatsink on the mobo if my case was wide enough...

What's wrong with playing with passive heatsinks...better than active heatsinks IMO...less to go wrong

If i put my k6 in a Ferrari it would be faster than your your pentium 4 or Athlon XP

P4 2.4C V core 1.47 System 33C Cpu 50.50C PVM 42C DDR 2.56V
August 5, 2003 3:37:34 AM

Processor:
AthlonXP 1700+ (Palomino core)

Speed:
1.1GHz... intentional :)

Temperatures:
Room Temperatures = 27°C - 33°C
Chip Temperatures = 40°C - 42°C
CPU Temperatures (Idle) = 52°C - 55°C
CPU Temperatures (Load) = 57°C - 62°C

The reason my temperatures are that high even when it's running at 1.1GHz, is due mostly to the summer temperatures I get here where I live. But it's also due to the various fans being throttled down for more quiet operation.

I estimate my Coolermaster XDream HSF to be running at maybe 25% to 40% capacity, so thats about 3000RPM to 3500RPM (4800RPM max). And my 2 adjustable Enermax case fans at maybe 75% capacity, about 2500RPM each (max of 3000RPM). All fans are 80mm of course :) .

Temperature would have been much much higher too, if I had simply placed my primary intake fan on the lower part of the front. Instead, I ripped open an 80mm hole in two 5.25" bay covers & slapped on my Enermax fan. Temperatures dropped on average by about 5°C after that.

3. Palomino XP1600+@1633MHz (Abit KG7-RAID)

TbredB 1700+ @ 2.2Ghz

~36 idle (lowest I've seen was 32C)
~50 MAX LOAD (during gaming)
August 5, 2003 4:51:26 AM

AMD AthlonXP 2600+ @10.5*214=2.25GHz, Vcore=1.7V; with Asus A7N8X Deluxe PCB rev2.0, Thermaltake Volcano 7+; with 13 fans inside my case including the one on Volcano 7+.

Reading by MBM5 (Diode=idle/underload; Socket=min/max; System=min/max):
Fan speed=high@6500rpm
Diode=50/56*C; Socket=32/35*C; System=22/25*C

~40 - 44C idle..
~50 - 55C Load. (sandra burn-in)

would try to oc further, but it's not stable when faster, even up to 1.9V, and I don't like pumping that much Voltage thru it..

2) Xp2100 t/bred b , 39 idle , 45 load , volcano 9
3) P4 2.53 , 37 idle , 44-46 load , stock cooler
4) T-bird 1.1 , 42 idle , 48-50 load , Falcon Rock
5) celeron 533 (for 4yr old) Dont care bout temp
August 5, 2003 11:01:04 AM

2500xp (barton) @ 2.3ghz 1.78 volts
Room temp = 32C (insane heatwave here right now)
Case temp = 37C
CPU idle = 47C
Load (prime95) = 52C

When it was a bit cooler yesterday, cpu idled at about 43C and 48 load. Im using the SK7 and 2 smartfans for cooling. Ive only just put the new cpu in so in a weeks time once the AS3 has settled, and once the heatwave passes, will probably idle low 40's.

Its just Amazing that most of you don't have a bigger swing from Idle to full load. I need to get a new one.

don't need one...if i pull the fan off of my current setup...the cpu temp is 55c full load...

If i put my k6 in a Ferrari it would be faster than your your pentium 4 or Athlon XP
August 6, 2003 2:58:47 AM

Nice. So you are pulling your fan off?
August 6, 2003 5:32:10 AM

no i don't mind the noise...so i am leaving it on...it keeps my cpu nice and cool...and that is good especially when you are running the cpu .5 volts over stock voltage...

If i put my k6 in a Ferrari it would be faster than your your pentium 4 or Athlon XP

after 2.2 volts it won't get into windows...no matter what speed i try it at...at 2.5 volts durring post everything looks funnny...hehe i wounder if i have voided my cpus warantee? running a 1.65 volt cpu at 2.5...that certainly is not kosher...

I really don't care about this chip...i hate it, it won't overclock for $hit!

Actually i have really started to gain respect for the resilience of the pIII's...It kinda makes me wonder if these "suden death syndromes" are fact or fiction...

I can honestly say that after a certain voltage...even if the cpu is under 40c...voltage does nothing to help your overclock and just makes your cpu unstable...

I had an Athlon 1.4GHz T-bird that would swing from 45c to 61c on a Gigabyte 7DX board. I've since switched cases, boards and processors. Seemed that switching the board and case made more difference than anything.
