I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, its DVD/CD Drive is going out. I've
reseated the drive like 20 times, just before warranty ran out I had a
replacement screw that holds the drive in. I thought, great, this'll
work, but it seems to not be, the drive still is failing more and more
of the time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could it be a heat related issue?

Out, as in won't read any disk, won't burn any disk.

I heard you couldn't use CD cleaning kits on combo drives?

Ground the hard drive untill it behaves itself!!! Then maybe consider
letting it go out with friends....
