My Vx battery is on its last legs and am looking at the Tungsten E.
How do I transfer the data from one to the other? The Vx uses Palm OS
3.5 and the Tungsten E, a later OS. Am using a Macintosh G4, and wonder
if I use the same user name for both, first time I try and sync the
Tungsten, will the data go to it? And should I use the same software on
my Macintosh, or install the new software that will come with the
Tungsten? I am confused and have found no one (no salesman) that can
help me.
TIA
jeff

Thanks for the help, but I wanted to know if the information I have now
is correct. You did not say whether it is or is not.

There is NO EASILY OBTAINABLE ANSWER for my question on the palmone website.
Does anyone out there have a simple answer that my simple brain will understand?

Look for Solution ID # 12926

Upgrading from a previous Palm OSĀ® handheld

Your new palmOneT handheld includes many improvements and additions. As a
result, some applications and peripherals that you used on your old handheld
may not function properly and may cause problems on your new handheld such
as slow performance, unusual screen display, difficulties using the
BluetoothT application (or other features), and uneven sound quality. The
handheld may also freeze when an application is launched.
For more information, see "What happens to data and handheld applications
during an upgrade?"

How do you want to upgrade? You have four choices:

Perhaps you should stop asking the question and just follow one of the
methods recommended by PalmOne.

BTW, which of your questions is THE question you want answered. I tried to
help with the first question: "How do I transfer the data from one to the
other?"
