Laptop processing speed

Hello,
iam using compac lap top model pantium 4 but it is getting slow day by day please advice

get a new laptop, or re-install windows

btw the processor isn't getting slower, its just having to do more work day after day
as you install programs, go places on the internet, it all starts adding up, especially if you get a virus, rootkit, or some malware
