Reinstalling my OS

Ok, I got a Gateway laptop a couple years ago, doesnt work anymore and I don't want to fix it so I stuck the hard drive into my new computer. I want to get rid of all the random crap that came with the laptop. How do I do a fresh install using the serial number that came with the laptop? Since I am after all only using it on one computer it should be fine right?

You need to use the Windows installation disk that came with your computer to re-install Windows. It's a very straightforward, self-explanatory process. All you have to do is put the installation disk into your DVD drive and boot from the DVD. Installation will take a while, so be patient.

That Gateway license is OEM and can't be used on another computer.
