Windows 7 installation/not recognizing drive

I builkt a computer and i am installing windows 7 when i get to where u want to install it there is no drive to install it in. processer athlon 2 X4 and a gigabyte MA-GA790GPT-UD3H. it says i need to format it but i click it and i cant because it might be read only, not connected or needs drivers. help!! thanx

Does your BIOS see the HDD? Verify that your data and power cables are properly attached to the HDD and to the motherboard.
