Thanks to several inside sources, I've learned:

1.) The Prescott will consume over 200W and require 100% of that on the 12v line, requiring a new power supply and a 200CFM fan to cool it.


2.) The Athlon 64 will be introduced at 3GHz, and have as much processing power as a 10GHz Prescott would. It will run passively cooled.

3.) The VIA C4 will consume less than 5 watts, clock at 10GHz, and do the same number of IPC as an IBM Power4 32-CPU server. This processor, when matched with the latest VIA/S3 "Chrome" graphics chip, will power gamers to over 5000FPS in Doom 3 at 1924x1400, 32xAA, AF, etc. across up to 5 monitors. This solution will be available in a new slotless nano-ITX platform which will measure only 25x25mm and can run sinkless in a cigarette case.

via c4 it is...i think i will have it implanted in my body...cause i wana take a via wherever i go...I hope it has no irq conflicts with my brain...

If i put my k6 in a Ferrari it would be faster than your your pentium 4 or Athlon XP :tongue:

Allthough latest rumors state that the C3 has to be implanted as a suppository... OUCH the pins! :evil:

I also heard that intel is releasing a new budget celleron line, suitable for older motherboards
Starting at 3.0Ghz, no L1 cache, 64k L2 cache, 100mhz system bus, single channel PC100 SDRAM and lower. :smile:

hmmm.....is it socket 370?

i heard that intel is gonna re-release the celeron 300...rumor is that it will be socket 424 and run ddrII ram...no l2 cache baby!!

1) i thought prescott was 90nm, then why it is sot <font color=red> hot </font color=red>

2) a 3ghz athlon64 outperforms a 10ghz prescott. If that happened then i would immediately purchasedit.

I was going to tell all how to mount a 233 mmx chip on an nforce board and have it outperform a P4 3.2 gig, but I realized that some shmuck would try it. Is Aug 10 the new april fools day?

OK, here's another hint. A 200 cfm fan would completely change the air in a standard 18 inch atx case more than twice per second. That kind of air movement would create enough sound for a deaf person to hear. It would probably explode a standard case. So Crashman, is this your way of saying you are really pi$$ed at all the unfounded Bsit rumours floating around this forum lately?
