inactive windows interupting me

When i am using IE6, i tend to use multiple windows for my browsing. but when i click a link on one page and switch to another window, the other window pop to the foreground everytime it is updated. this can happen several times before the page is completely loaded. how can i prevent this? i have also noticed this happen to minimized windows, though it doesn't actually bring up the window but it will still take the focus off of the window i am currently using.

i am running windows xp pro on a "tyan tiger mp" mobo with a single athlon mp 1800 and 512mb DDR(registered)RAM

i have look at some of the registry settings but have been
unable to find anything that fixes this.

are using detonator 40.41 drivers by chance?

no. i am using 30.82 right now. but i am going to updates those right now. thanks for pointing that out.

you have a few options:

1) get TweakUI and set it to not "steal focus"

2) minimize the browser, and it won't steal focus

3) (my fave) get <A HREF="http://www.crazybrowser.com" target="_new"><font color=red>Crazybrowser</font color=red></A> which will prevent your problem, and has some excellent functionality, especially for people like us who have many open browser windows at once. I absolutely love it.

Ok. I have updated my drivers, used the tewakui option and it is STILL HAPPENING! any new ideas? this is really annoying!
