Acer 5517 Recovery

I have a Acer 5517 and am not able to get past the boot screen.. I have tried f-8... but am not able to get to that screen.. It shows the F-2 (set-up) but then just sits there with a please wait for hours... I have recovery disks and am using Win7 .

shift + f8 right before windows strats loading in is the menu. Try that and choosing safe mode to see if it will load in safe mode.
