I just bought an audio board for my (audio-boardless) f-14. I didn't
pay too much attention (my fault obviously) to what i was buying and
it's actually a D-11298 Sound board with F-14 roms on it.
the 11298 is apparently the sound board used in Pinbot, Road Kings and
space station. F-14 used a D-1581. I can't find any information about
the 2 being interchangable. But if not WHY WOULD SOMEONE BE SELLING IT
WITH THE F-14 ROMS ON IT!!!
Well, when i started wriging this I had more than 1 question....but now
I don't remember what else I had. I'm sure after I wake up in the AM
I'll be refreshed and have more bothersome questions.

Ahh, an all nighter in the pinball shop and now your brain dead. Been
there, done that. Now's a good time to stop before you brake something.

yep, and now I've been so busy cleaning the house that I can't remember
what I was doing last night. All I know is I have a bunch of boards on
the PF glass that I don't have screws to mount with...SO I gotta get
the the Hardware store today and get some screws.
So my one and only question still stands. Will that oddball sound
board work for me? or do I need the original? Looking at the Marvin3M
site and can't figure it out.
HELP! before I blow something up. or hopefully not

hi
u4 and u19 sound eproms are the same 32k / piece as from pinbot
schematis are the same d11298 has an extra SR but this is not
big deal
conclusion the board should work in your F14
conect the board to the machine with no fear !!!

Nope; that was one of the enhancements for wpc: slotted screw holes.
