Hey.. Since i recently installed win98, i've been working with IE ver. 5. I recently updated to version 5.5 and i've had no complaints except one. I surf on multiple pages at a time, and i'll let something load in one page, go to another page, finish what i'm doing there, and go back to page one. However, in IE 5.5, if you load page 1 in one window and go to page 2 in another window, it'll automatically go to window 1 when its done loading, and it really is annoying, because i then have to wait for a page to finish so i'm not interrupted on the other page. What option do i need to disable or enable to make this stop! thanks
There's a better workaround than the one you are looking for ... and that is to use a different browser interface.
Crazy Browser allows tabbed browsing, which is a feature I think you'll appreciate. It's small (about 700K), fast, and works off the Internet Explorer rendering engine, so it doesn't require a great deal of hard drive space.
It has a lot of other handy features, too ... things not found in Internet Explorer, like the ability to load web sites as groups, and a built-in popup filter.
Check it out, and see what you think. I've been running it for a while now, and haven't felt the need to load Internet Explorer ever since. It's simply a superior interface.
you're absolutely right Toey. I've been using CB for about 2 months (I think I saw the reference on the daily e-mail from the TechTV show "Call for Help" hosted by that doofus Chris Pirillo) now and I love it too.
It's always the one thing you never suspected.
