Hi,

First of all forgive me if this is the wrong category.

I am having big trouble with different programs "freezing" up for about 10-30 sec very often. I have looked to see if it was my RAM causing this, but that doesnt seem to be the case as they are pretty stable and not working max.

Since I am very much a noob I hope to find some help here!

I have been searching through the forum and found this which looks like my problem, however haven't solved my problem:

I tried entering my bios and resetting it to default, but that didnt help on the problem.

Please let me know if I should provide you guys with additional info, and please let me know if there is a solution to this problem as it is driving my mad!

best regards!

Your link brings me to the main forum and not a specific thread.
I would download and run memtest86 and test the ram for any that may be defective.
You can also fur chkdsk to see if your hard drive is ok.
Also you want to think about when this first started happening and what you changed at the time with either hardware or software on the computer.
Is your computer a laptop or desktop and how long have you had it ?

Ok, I'll try with this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/3951-63-programs-resp...

I did the memtest86, but that didnt solve the problem.

I definitely did not change any of my hardware, and I don't remember making any software changes, but I might have installed some update or something, but since I have tried to re-install Windows several times, and the problem pops up straight away, I don't think that's the problem either.

My specs are here btw:

MB: MSI 760GM-E51 (MS-7596)
CPU Type: QuadCore AMD Athlon II X4 630, 2800 MHz (14 x 200)
2X Kingston 9905403-011.A03LF 2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM
Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 5750

The comp is about 3 years old
