Hi newbie overclocking question. Just wondering how much the XP2800+ Barton (333Mhz FSB) can be overclocked to without much fidling or going mad on cooling. Have one being delivered Wednesday with a "Coolermaster CP5-8JD1F-0L Upto XP3200+ Silent Skt A Heatsink & Fan"
Any help is appreciated.

Bartons and Tbred B's will usually scale to 2.2Ghz with stock cooling and voltage. You will most likely be able to go well beyond that limit, but results will vary.
My 2500+ is at (12.5 * 195) with stock voltage.

So it can only go up to 2.2Ghz? (stock spd is 2.083Mhz) so do i just go into the Bios and up the multiplier? or something else?
And Im guessing that if it fries, My warranty is out of the window too? lol

If it fries, dont write on it fried while overclocking. How else would they know? If you bought retail, but also got a better fan, keep the stock fan nice, then only put it on before you rma (so the pad is marked). As for how high you can go, some of the new bartons are passing 2500. What ever you do though, go slow. Bump your speed in small increments and test for temp and stability. It's a good game, go play.

Newbish overclocking? Im sorry but thats a very false statement. Usually its the noobs that DONT overclock not the people that do. At least some people are willing to try and dont dismiss it as stupid. Its an easy way to get a huge performance gain with little risk to your components.
