Looks to me like they're trying to aim it at the mobile market. Damned if I'll buy it! I have 3 copies of Win7-64 as it is.
I hasn't been officially confirmed, but it seems logical that W8 will form the basis for the next version of Windows Phone as well.

Im using he developer preview atm It runs fine ive only crashed it once in the last month and thats cus it didn't like my antivirus i tried to install. But besides that its great. Start up times are insane and the metro interface is ok but really its designed for touch devices not mice.
