New Dell XPS Gen 3 or 4?

I just took delivery of my new DELL XPS Gen 3 and it seems to be quiet, fast
and I really like it a lot so far. One thing that is a little strange is
that the case is silver and black and says Gen 4 on the front logo.

I ordered it (unknowingly) one day before the Gen 4 machines appeared on the
Dell website. Evidently I got one of the very last Gen 3 manufactured.
Maybe they just ran out of Gen 3 cases and stuck all the parts in it.

Looking on the website at the new XPS Gen 4 machines I can see very little
difference between what is listed and what I took delivery on except the
video card.

Even stranger is the fact that you seem to have forgotten that
you posted this same info five hours ago.

i though gen 4 is also 1066 Mhz support.

only the xps gen 4 with a 3.46ght extreme hard drive has the 1066FSB

A couple of Gen 3 systems (blue) have been delivered with Gen 4 covers
(silver).
It is a pure cosmetic change.
