i have a problem with my laptop/desktop not being able to file share
correctly.

it came up when i did a system reinstall on the laptop, so i suspect thats
where the issue is, but im not sure.

symptoms; i can read/write/create files on the desktop using the laptop, but
i can only read the laptop files using the desktop. in other words, the
file permissions are different somehow.

but when i check them, they seem the same.

security on laptop; top folder has permissions set as follows:
administrators/mylogin/system are all full control; everyone is read only
individual folder (such as my documents etc) are set as follows:
mylogin/system are full control, no other permissions

any ideas?

thanks,

mark

Hi,

Shared folders rely on everyone permissions when accessed by a networked
machine. The everyone permissions need to include write/change permissions.
