Dude, you can do all that yourself, you don't need a technician.
1) lockbar off, glass of, lift game, rest on prop rod, look inside the
cabinet
2)Molex connector for the flat switch inside the cabinet - disconnect it
3) Gun is held by 3 screws inside the cabinet. Unscrew
4) Take the gun out. Do some troubleshooting. Look in the manual.
5) You can take apart 2 halves of the gun if you want, but you don't have to
6) Pull the gun trigger. There SHOULD BE a spring in there that releases the
tension when you take your finger off the trigger to get it back in place.
See if it's missing there.
7) This is how that gun works. Trigger pushes, a little metal rod protrudes
out of the gun and triggers the switch mounted outside of the gun, but
inside the cabinet. If the little metal rod isn't clearing or isn't long
enough to trigger the switch closed, take apart halves of the gun and see if
it's misaligned.
8) Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste and enjoy your dinn... never mind,
wrong recipe.
Anyways, the operation, parts and the way that gun works are quite simple,
just dive in and you can fix it yourself. If your spring is missing, you can
order a direct replacement from anyone who sells pinball parts, or if you
are cheap and creative, you can substitute some other spring in its place,
as long as it operates properly. If another spring is not the same size, you
can cut the excess length and feel how the tension works. As long as the
small metal rod spring goes around retreats when you release the gun, you're
in good shape.
I can't believe whoever sold you the game didn't get the gun working for you
properly, no gun, no game, no shooting the balls in to play. Best of luck.
