Hi,

I was looking at different things for my computer to get with some birthday/saved money. I have already decided that I want to spend it on a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 Speaker System http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000062VUO/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A51I1OHXH40F3. The question is whether I need a different soundcard. I currently have a generic onboard sound card, realtek high def, but I was wondering if I needed the additional card or not. If I do need one, what are some ideas for them. I was thinking HT | Omega Striker http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271001&Tpk=ht omega striker. Thanks for the help guys!

The speakers themselves do not need a dedicated sound card.. However, i've always advocated the need for a dedicated audio card for music enthusiasts.. The major advantage is cleaner audio.. The HT Omega Striker is a good card for the money..

right i phrased that incorrectly. I meant to say do you reccomend a diff sound card and i guess the answer is yes. I wasn't going to go with creative because their reviews are good and terrible.

Not many options at that price.. However, i do recommend you to first listen to your speakers using the onboard audio.. The sound may be satisfying enough for you to consider getting a dedicated audio card as a waste of money..
