I just built a shuttle sn45g. it supports a 400 mhz fsb and i have 400 mhz ddr ram, but only a 333 XP2700+. Right now the FSB is at 166(333) and the memory is running at 200(400). Should i clock the memory down to run at the same speed as the FSB or can I leave it faster since its capable of the higher speed. or does it not matter?

The memory is geil 2 x 512 pc3200 2 6 3 3 by the way
Thanks for the help!

Run the memory in sync with the FSB with this chipset that you may prevent latency.

or if you want, you may sync the cpu with the memory by overclocking. (200)(400)

Yep your computer will run faster withe fsb and memory in sync. even if you have to slow the memory up.

If he doesn't die, he'll get help!!!

will that mean if i use a 100fsb p4 @ 133mhz ddr.
and i lower the ram @ 100Mhz ddr (now it is sync),
is my pc going to run faster.
Lower RAM Clock : Lower Performance.

Sync is almost always faster even if tha means lowerin your FSB. I would suggest to overclock you cpu a bit. If you keep the same multiplier and you raise the FSB youll gain lots of performance. You could also lower your multiplier and raise your CPU fsb at 200.
