Problem with ventilator on Armada E500

the ventilator doesn't turn permanently. It seem to work, but
from time to time only.
Is that normal operation ?

Probably. Most notebooks havea thermal sensor on the processor. The fan
won't run unless it's needed. Battery life, you know.
