P4 2.4C $169 IS7 $109 I don't now Euro prices if that's what you use. Do not buy 9200 buy TI 4200 if you can find it. Or 9600 Pro or Non Pro. Ram HyperX PC 3500 512 $140 Last time I looked.

Thanks. But 9600 costs twice than 9200, and i can't pay it. I only wants it to play several times, and to contect to internet. I don't need a BIG machine.

Please someone correct me if i am wrong, but AFAIK the Radeon 9100 (old 8500) is actually a better performer than the 9200.Maybe you should go for one of them if you can find one.

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]

Looks more or less good to me. I'd say stick with the AMD route in your case.

One suggestion is that you might consider trying to find a combo DVD/CD-RW drive though. It'd have the same functionality but should cost less than two seperate drives. The only flaw would be that you'd have to do a CD to HD to CD copy instead of a direct CD to CD copy. With a 120GB hard drive though, that shouldn't be a problem. :)

Anyway, that's my food for thought.

ROFLMAO , gee every person that comes on this forum hardware pipes the price of a p2.4, i just cant stop laughing... Hey hardware did you notice this fella is looking at somthing half the price off your stupid recommendation, gee some real dumb intel fans floating around here. As for your question looks like a good choice, but try and find a Ti4200 in your price range if you can as it will way outperform the Ati you mentioned. But if your budget doesn't suffice you look to be on the right track. Also shop aroud on the price of your cpu 108 pounds seems expensive but i'm i Australia here they about $85 US dollars.

Sorry for calling you stupid hardware, seriously. Yea the thing is on a budget the only real offer from intel is a celeron. Its just that i'm in a heated arguement with pIII as he is trolling on a post again so im a bit worked up.

Can you show me those prices? The last time that I checked it saved about $20-$40 depending on the quality that you aimed for. I admit that I haven't looked at prices since July (when I bought my system), but I find it hard to believe that you'd only save $5 now. (Funny enough I ended up opting for two seperate drives because I wanted a specific DVD player that was reputed for it's very low noise.)

I just have to say some stuff:

Compare like PERFORMANCE with like PERFORMANCE.... a 2.4C P4 performs on par with a XP2800+.. which costs almost the same..

PIII_Man has WAY more respect than you around here... And someone with your record calling him a troll is really quite funny...

I don't know why I'm bothering.. plenty of ppl seem to have tried to point out your 'issues' (including me).. and you seem completely unreceptive to any suggestions...

Next time you go under your bridge, I think we should board it up...

The end is nigh.. (For this post at least)
