i have a fisher receiver turn table and tuner that a repairman wants 500$ to repair plus i need new speakers.is it worth repairing?

sorry to say but it probably isn't worth repairing for that much , i would be surprised if you could sell this in good working condition for $100 . what is the nature of repairs this system needs? i will guess that the speakers need new surrounds , if so that is something that is a little bit more DIY friendly .
