I just assembled a new PC which consists of:

Epox 8k5a2+ mobo with the latest bios and via 4 in 1 driver
Athlon XP 2000+
Geforce 3 with current driver
Win XP with all current updates
Onboard Realtek Sound.

I keep randomly getting a BSOD with the message Page fault in Non Paged Area. It also says that the error occured at

dxg.sys

When I send the bug report to MS it tells me its a driver issue, but it won't give me any details. I can't seem to figure out what is causing this problem. I have tried many different drivers combinations but I always get this error. I recently have to remove my SB live card because it kept giving me portcls.sys errors and now I think my video card is to blame for the dxg.sys errors.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Do I need a new video card? If anyone can help It would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah, nvidia and msft don't play well together.

You might try nixxing the 4n1's, and just load the detonators, and see if that klears up your stability problems.

After that, I'd have to check out the 4n'1s and an older set of detonators. Like the 28.90's or something...

Yeah, I tried it without the 4 in 1 via drivers, but it didn't make any difference. I still have to try and use some older detonator drivers and see if that helps.

under normal circumstances you should't use 4in1 with XP. They even say that on the site http://www.viahardware.com

also, dxg.sys is part of DirectX - have you run the tests on all the tabs? It could still be your audio drivers.
