I need to replace the 2.5 in internal HDD in my ThinkPad T23. IBM/Lenovo indicate maximum capacity of 60 GB. I can only purchase the minimum capacity of 160 GB.

Can I put a 2.5 inch 160 GB hard drive in a thinkpad t23 as a HDD replacement?

Yes, it shouldn't be a problem as long as the connection interface is the same (i.e. SATA).

buwish - You are correct. Everything works perfectly.

I installed a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 GB (PATA -compatible with IDE) - in my IBM ThinkPad T23 that had a limited available HDD capacity at time of manufacture.

Thank you so much for your rapid and informative response.
