Somehow I thought this video was about Company of Hero's BUT....... That is the most insane thing I have ever seen in my life. YOU DONT THROW A BABY ACROSS THE ROOM!!! I hope the child is alright! they are waaaayyy to fragile for that. what the hell was this teen thinking when he has done this? I would be surprised if he actually makes it to court seeing how many people want to beat him up.

That teenager needs mental help. I can't believe someone would do that. I'm surprised that little baby's father or mother didn't beat that kid. I probably would have lost it and snapped if that was my little baby and i saw that video.
July 3, 2008 2:42:06 PM

I love the violent response to the violent act. How about locking him up for a couple years?
July 3, 2008 2:50:27 PM

I agree he should be locked up for a few years.

I'm sure there is more than one criminal in jail with little self-control and a small child.

Ever vigilant guards can be less than so in certain cases.

I hope he is charged as an Adult so he name can be plastered everywhere.
July 3, 2008 2:52:57 PM

frank... I think they mean that the deputy's child, the "high school teenager" saw the video. Yes, gets confusing when they use the same wording about two diff people. _bad_ editors, no cookie.
July 3, 2008 3:22:41 PM

They need to charge the dumbass that filmed the video too!

Thankfully, I heard that the child is actually OK. He apparently has no injuries.

That, of course, doesn't excuse our actor from the criminal responsibility.

Am I the only one that doesn't see the big deal? This is like a baby falling off of a couch or a chair. It didn't go very high in the air and only flew about 1.5-2 feet away. Doing it on purpose is wrong, but its not like he hit the baby with a bat or anything. Sure its not a good thing, but he should just get a talking to / grounding from his parents.

That must have been one evil baby!
July 4, 2008 12:02:04 AM

That sad truth is people who hurt children often get lesser sentences than people who hurt animals. And @gm0n3y, it is obvious that you know nothing about how fragile a young child is, especially a baby.
July 4, 2008 4:30:01 AM

Some people, much like some animals, are just not meant to ever use their brains and because of that they fall under the category of food. This teen is definitely an example of the few people falling under the category of "food" that are allowed to walk around freely without any kind of warning to others. Beware my friends, they are out there, and they are VERY stupid.

It's nothing like a baby falling off a chair. This was an intentional, planned event. The teenager's disregard for someone not just expecting, but NEEDING care is a sign of deep seated cruelty.

What if he just "tapped" the baby with the bat? Would that be wrong? What if the baby had broken an arm or a leg or heaven forbids later shows signs of brain damage? Would that make you realise how wrong this was?

Putting this in your level of social perspective. Imagine if someone were to hogtie you (so you're helpless just like the baby was) and then toss you out of a car going down the road. Would you expect that person to be punished? I would hope so.

The root of this incident is the parents of the teenager. They failed at teaching proper morals to their kid. Sadly, it's the teenager who's going to take the hit.
July 4, 2008 5:59:19 PM

@stromm

I get that this was wrong and that the baby could have been injured, but it just doesn't seem to be the huge deal that people are making it out to be. People are saying that the teen should be beaten and thrown in jail; that seems a bit excessive. Just because the kid did it on purpose doesn't make it worse for the baby, it just shows that the teenager is a douchebag. It would be sad if the baby was injured, but falls like that happen unintentionally all the time.
July 6, 2008 7:56:52 PM

It's a direct statement that the teen himself has learned that this is ok; and that's about the home environment which is about the parents. And the parents were taught by their parents, that similar abuse is ok. It goes on and on - the cycle of abuse continues until the chain is broken. And you won't be popular if you step out of the abuse cycle; cos you will scare people about themselves.

Putting the teen in jail - in socalled "correctional facility" - a HUGE pathetic societal botch - will teach the teen how to be a criminal, rather than "correct" him. They don't do "correction" = they do ABUSE!

Welcome to the insane world. Violence begets more violence. An eye for an eye makes us all blind.

None of us are innocent. This teen is doing the best he can to find his own self-actualization. The socalled "education" system teaches 2+2=4; nothing about societal/family abuse, alcoholism, addiction, healthy relationships, self-appreciation. (OR IMPOTENT, IF IT DOES)

Or if they do teach it, it's a set of "demands" that are contrary to sick notions of personal freedom. The source is woven in the sad fabric of society, fueled by money (is most important), sick notions of socalled success (millionaire) and the show goes on and on - and we wonder why people are criminalized/ abused/ walked on.

And then we cry about it - cos we never saw it coming. This sux; but there's lot worse in our wonderful, free, democratic, educated, high-standard countries.

Drop a bomb, too bad some people got deleted - when you want to apply your moral rules, they have to work EVERYWHERE, IN ALL CASES - otherwise, you left something out - and this is merely evidence of much more dangerous everyday accepted behaviour. That this shocks people is a merely a quiet "wake up" call!

Have you checked the news lately - totally neurotic. Money rules, not love, not freedom, not liberty.

Wanna talk family, relationship, spousal abuse, racism?
How about war - is that ok? Move to mideast, and check that out. How about some African scenes. How about China. How about USA or Canada? How is your own family?

It's just a question of visibility - but when you open your eyes, you will see it EVERYWHERE. We are sick animals; we comfort ourselves with our gentle illusions of how nice we are.

Say no to drugs? SAY NO TO ABUSE! Most of need to see a counsellor! And dr-phil ain't it, folks.

Is the world a safe place to live? What do you care about 'personal boundaries'.

Americas jails are overcrowded because of morons like this
July 8, 2008 8:42:06 PM

He's a minor, its doubtful he'll see any jail time if this is his first offense.

White people, Please beat your kids!
July 18, 2008 4:30:06 PM

To swiftpulse

I am white and I grew up with getting a belt or switch across the backside if I ever stepped out of line. So rest assure there are those white people who still believe in dealing out punishment the old fashion way. Remember everyone "Time out" just does not work! This story is proof.
January 5, 2009 4:25:07 PM

They should both be jailed. Put them in a cell with a big guy named Bubba :)
