Hello,
I would like to get some advice regarding a screen for gaming. My budget is around 150-180€. The only requirement I have is that the screen is matte and not glossy. I also like when the screen border is from a matte material as well and when the design is "minimal" (eg. DELL screens) but this is of course less important.

I heard that 4/3 screens are now "has been" and that even for gaming 16/9 (or 16/10 ?) are ok ? I think I don't need a huge resolution. around 20" should be ok.

Could you help me to find something suitable ?

Thanks,
Tex

17 INCHES & 19 INCHES are best for gaming ..because higher Monitors need higher VGA cards ...but in those REZ you can get even 5770 or 5750 & see it is working great for you ..i have 19 INCH samsung which works great for me .
do you have a widescreen ?

I have a 19" and a 21.5" LCD, the 19" is 1280x1024 and the 21.5" is 1920x1080, i prefer gaming on the 21.5" because the higher resolution makes things look nicer and it makes things larger in general. Of the two you posted the resolution on the dell is higher so the pixels will be smaller and the image a bit smoother. Personally though, i wouldnt pick either of those, i would try to find a nice 1920x1080/1200, it will be a bit more but it will look a bit nicer and a GTX 470 is strong enough to run games quite well at that resolution.

Something i have noticed about widescreen monitors against a slightly smaller 4:3 or 5:4 is that the wide screen appears to be huge compared to it but dont take up much more room on the desk.

The question is if it makes sense to play games at a full HD resolution. It might harm the FPS and playing games at a non native resolution is not that nice. At least that's what I experience on my current laptop. So I think I will go for a 22" screen with a 1680 x 1050 resolution.

Btw, what does it bring plugging the screen via HDMI instead of DVI ?
