Hi,
I got two Compaq Presario 500 machines for free and would like to prepare
them for some junior high school kids in the neighborhood. I have loaded
Windows 98SE and MS Word, and would like to enable them for email use.
The problem is that they came with telephone plugs to connect a modem. I?fd
like to use LAN cards since I have some older PC LAN cards somewhere lying
around.
Does this model have proprietary LAN cards? In this case I?fd need to shop
for some inexpensive second hand cards.
The same goes for memory since the computers came with 16KB and 24KB only.
If upgrading these old clunkers is too expensive, I might just turn them
into fast DOS machines without an Internet connection.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Murgi
