Canon scanner

Hello,
I have an elderlyu canon scanner that has worked well until I replaced computer. Have reinstalled canoscan toolbox and it appears successful but no ction from scanner. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

  1. Which Model? It probably requires a driver, and Canon may not have provided one for Windows 7. Check here

    If you can't find one for Win 7, try the Vista version and install by Rt click on the Setup File and choose 'Troubleshoot Compatibility'. Windows will get you to test the installation using XP settings, and if that fails you will get the chance to try Vista.
    If that fails, rather than buy a new scanner, consider Hamrick's Vuescan (I use it all the time)

  2. +1^ canon don't do win7 64bit drivers for their older lower end scanners, hamrick works, not buying another canon scanner, been stung.

    Thank you for the suggestions. After much searching on the net I have decided to purchase a new scanner. The Canon was 10 years old but had always performed well. Pity to throw away functional gear.
