are there programs out there for modifying the windows classic start button and the explorer frame?

also anyone know of any alternatives to hydragrid, i quite fancy using it on my t400 but it doesnt have dedicated graphics

The start button is easy to modify with ViOrb.

It does on every computer that I've used it on and I only use the Windows classic theme.

are there any that work by doing something other than placing an image on top of it? i was hoping to remove the start button entirely to be honest and it would be a pain creating a fresh image for each theme use.

IDK, it's not something that I really get into. I'm not bothered much by the aesthetics of my desktop.

seems none of them even mention the classic button in this context, its probably a resource editor job but i dont even know what images i need to be replacing...

anyone know this or got anything for my other question?
