Samsung CLX-3185 multifunctional laserprinter

I'm looking to replace my multifunctional and with today's prices, I want a color laser printer multifunctional. I had my mind set on a Samsung CLX-3175 (USB) or a CLX-3175N (USB and ethernet) or CLX-3175FW (USB, ethernet and WiFi) but now there's the CLX-3185.

As far as I can find, the only difference between the 3175 and the 3185 is that the latter uses polymer type toner.

Anything else about this multifunctional I should know?

Anything that improves colour laser output may prove worth the money.

I don't get it.. The 3185 is about the same price as the 3175. I've never seen laser printers that have a bad print quality. Yes, initially those cheap inkjets are better bang for your buck, but I've owned half a dozen now and they don't last and need pricey ink.

I print very little pages and even then I have to replace cartridges regularly because my Pixma uses ink to keep it from drying the tiny holes in the printer head. Which is better than having them clogged, don't get me wrong. But in the long run, I don't want to throw away my printer every 2 years. Not very green.

The same question with samsung 3175/3185 here. I found out moreover that 3185 eats less energy in safe mode(s). how did you solve the dilemma ?

I still manage to keep my Canon Pixma MP540 working I will not be surprised if the printer part becomes useless sooner or later though.

Then I will probably buy the 3185 — or the 3195, 32xx or whatever will be the flavor of the week. I saw one with my book keeper and at the office of a friend of mine and they seemed happy with theirs.

However, I always keep my eyes open. And the more it is in the future, the more likely it is that I'll also take a look at other printers. (Except for HP, I have had too many bad experiences with those).
