Today, I happily received my Addonics CardBus USB 2.0 adapter.
Unfortunately, it is not working on my Dell Inspiron 2650. When I try DVD
burning (using Nero) to my external USB burner, it just freezes at writing
the leadin. When I place my USB flash drive into it, it will display the
contents, but when then clicking on another drive in Windows Explorer
(WinXP Pro SP2), the system freezes.
At http://addonics.com/support/faqs/usb_troubleshooting_resources.asp
I see:
"Computer lock up when plug in the Addonics USB devices
This problem most likely caused by the USB is on legacy setting in the BIOS
when plug in a USB 2.0 device. Disable the legacy setting should resolve
the problem."
But I can't find anything about USB in the BIOS setup.
My USB devices are working fine in the USB 1.1 internal port (except the
expected slow speed).
I would appreciate help on this.
