Specific port

Hello,
hi everyone

I just want to know that i want to disable some USb ports in my PC ( and not all). is there any way to do it.
i want the USB ports of mouse and keyboard to work
but want to disable other open usb ports for security reasons

i have found several articles on net which disable all usb ports but i want to disable some specific ports.

please help

Here's the problem, May...

If you disable all ports but the ones the mouse and keyboard are connected to... what's to stop a hacker trying to access your computer physically from unplugging one of those two and sticking the USB drive in there?

Actually a good hacker will just place a device inside the keyboard or mouse, so you won't even know it.

About the only way to do that would be to disconnect the hardware connection (ie. the plug from the MOBO to the USB connector for the front panel ) or to physically block the connector with a plug or some other method -- but as mentioned even doing that is not going to help as anyone could unplug the mouse or keyboard plug in a USB hub and plug their device and the mouse\keyboard back in.

Thre are registry settings that prevent USB storage devices from loading drivers. You can also use GPedit.msc
