I'm trying to tailor my power saving options to the way I use my computer. My question is...if I am running seti@home on my computer then can the HD power down? Is seti writing to a file all the time? I'd hate to have my Hard drive running 24/7. If so, I'm going to move seti to a junk drive on my computer rather than my nice one.
Yeah, SETI writes to the hard drive every few minutes or so just to update your results. It's basically to protect against losing your progress on the current work unit if the application or your computer crash.
If my baby don't love me, I know, I know, her sister will.
